Little Light
Terms of Use
The short version: enjoy Little Light at home, at church and in the classroom. Please don't copy or resell it. Purchases and refunds go through the app store. We do our best, but we can't promise the apps will always be perfect.
1. Who we are and agreeing to these terms
Little Light is made by [Developer legal name] ("we", "us"). By downloading the game or using the web app, you agree to these terms. If a child uses Little Light, the parent or guardian who chose it accepts these terms on the child's behalf.
2. Your licence to use Little Light
When you buy the game, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use it on devices you own or control, as allowed by the app store's rules (for example, sharing through Google Play Family Library, if it is enabled for the game). You may use the game and the web app at home, in Sunday school, in church groups and in classrooms. You may not copy, resell, rent, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the game or its art, music, voices or text, except where the law allows it.
3. Purchases and refunds
The game is a single upfront purchase. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Payments are handled by Google Play (or the Apple App Store, if available), under that store's terms. Refunds are handled by the store under its refund policy, for example Google Play's refund help page. If you have trouble, write to us and we'll help where we can. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer protection law.
4. Content and Scripture
- Little Light is for encouragement and learning. It does not replace your church, pastor, or professional advice.
- Scripture in the game is from the World English Bible (WEB), which is in the public domain. Posts in the web app show the translation they quote. Some translations are copyrighted and are used under their publishers' terms.
- Stories are retold for children. We aim to stay faithful to the Bible and never add to Scripture. If you spot something that concerns you, please tell us.
5. Sharing our verse images and posts
You're welcome to share links to our posts, and to share verse images from the web app for personal, church or classroom use, without changing them and with credit to Little Light. Please don't use our content in ads, products for sale, or anything that suggests we endorse you.
6. Fair use of the web app
Please don't try to break into, overload, scrape or disrupt the web app or the Studio, or use them for anything unlawful. Studio access is by invitation only, and we may remove access to keep the service safe.
7. Our content and names
The game, the web app, their characters, art, music, voices, text and the Little Light name and logo belong to us or our licensors. Fonts and other open-source parts are used under their own licences.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Little Light running well, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may update the game and the web app, and we may change these terms. If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and, where reasonable, let you know.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses from using Little Light, and our total responsibility for the game is limited to the price you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by [Governing law, to confirm, e.g. Republic of Indonesia], without taking away any protections you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems can be solved with a friendly email.
